33. H3500 Playshop #1-11

—

Another Playshop with the students of Stedelijke Academie Hasselt, where Pablo and Manon gathered some 16 year olds to create 11 peep hole houses. 11, Because of the 11 beguine houses at art center Z33. 11 new stories now, painted and crafted in their homes, showing the house number when peeping inside. When installing, a blackbird was already checking them out and choosing his next crib. We hope for many baby birds made in our 11 houses!

32. H3500 Playshop #12

—

For some time now, the project www.H3500.be has been going on behind the scenes. 5 Designers from Hasselt have been creating house numbers, ready to be sold at the webshop after April 6. The project is more though. It has been focusing on that little element on a house yes, but also laying its mark on the process of getting there. Thinking, creating, producing, talking, brainstorming.... and playing. Every designer took over a class to play with numbers. Manon Wethly and Pablo Hannon had their playful start at the Stedelijke Academie in Hasselt. 8 and 9 year olds and super supervisor Heidi Leën plus her colleagues  joined them to have a go at the school's house number, 12. This was a Playshop, soon a Display in their front yard. Marvelous creations from these kids, humble we become.

31. Presse-Papier par Pandique x Pablo

Pandique and Pablo have joined forces once again. A collab of Sweden x Belgium producing a zig zag presse-papier. Week days on recto, Svenska x English x Nederlands on verso. Flip to know what day is next, flop to see what mood is best. These are not translations, even though sometimes correct in the neighbor language. Their idea is that week day names sometimes don't cover the content. These new names will make you play och stjärn en droom and lots more. If you want to.

monday — ritdag  playday  speeldag

30. Fruitful Panoramix

—

Julie Scheurweghs and Pablo Hannon love composing through technology malfunction. Apparently. What happened wasn't planned and that's the beauty of these Sunday playful creative affairs. Step by step fruits were sliced in half and got a sprinkle reaction. The dry loves the moist of the slice. A handful of panorama functions later, the distorted portraits were shot. Fruitful perfection needs a lick of the wrong. Just perfect.

29. Paper City by Manon x Stephanie x Pablo

—

Reunited and after a few hours of rambling through the stories of the past months, it was time to play. Manon Wethly, the original founder of Things I Like a Lot. Stephanie Duval, who joined Manon for some crafts and play. And Pablo Hannon, who couldn't stay behind and added his itchy fingers to the TILAL gang. Unbelievable, this is their first actual Things I Like a Lot creative collab. Paper, thread, tape, utility knives and scissors. Let's keep it simple in this restart in the new year.

"Enough talk. Let's play."

"Let's build a city."

28. Twenty pictures. Riga x Hasselt

—

This was a very intimate collab. Even though the two players were miles apart. Ilze Vanaga and Pablo Hannon searched some truths via an atypical visual story. Non linear. Individual expressions. Twenty pictures, curated and some photographed by Ilze. Collected. Then passed on to Pablo to continue that journey. In time and events. A road trip perhaps, they always wanted that to happen. Someday. Doodling or animating or adding stuff onto the images, almost like they were originally made with that purpose. Not just a canvas but with room for other thoughts. Where Ilze gave, Pablo gave back and felt special while doing that extra last thing. Observing the lines and composition and the objects or people portrayed, and then slowly figuring out and understanding the image. And only then, after knowing what could be added, proceed. Only then, when the feeling was... just right.

27. Family collab

—

Some collabs have more to than meets the eye. Pablo Hannon was challenged a few weeks ago to enter the ring with his mother, Yita Henríquez. The family has a long history of creating art. Smaller things and larger, on the dinner table or at the workshop. Yita has been weaving, collaging, screen printing, etching and linocutting her whole life. A few years ago life came along and made her press the pause button. So, Pablo was honored and filled with enthusiasm when his mother asked him for a creative collab. Two half finished silkscreen prints were given. Pablo took it from there, went minimal on his mum and presented her with a new challenge right after his answer. You will see her answer here. Naturalmente.
